Linalool

Updated: Aug 28, 2021

Linalool is a natural fragrance, which occurs in various plants in nature. In lemons, for example, there is 1% linalool, bergamots have with 25% already a considerable share and the basil is with its 85% linalool top leader. Olfactorily, linalool has aspects of citrus, floral sweet, slightly woody and green.

Anyone who has ever looked at the ingredient list of their perfumes will see that linalool is not a rare representative there. This is not only because the fragrance is often used, but also because linalool, is one of the fragrances that is classified by the Scientific Advisory Committee of the European Union (SCCNFP) as particularly often allergenic and must therefore be declared on the packaging.
