Hedione

Hedione, according to studies, is considered the first synthetic fragrance that is said to have an effect similar to sex pheromones. It is considered a gentler substitute for jasmine absolute, with its elegant floral note accented by a light citrus note. In addition to its use in floral fragrances, Hedione lends original effects to virtually all fragrance types. Concentrations of 2-5% are common, though concentrations of 35% or more may be used.

The first time Hedione was used was in 1966 in the perfume Dior - Eau Sauvage.
